Course Description

Organization, time management, sleep difficulties, and balancing work, family, and leisure may seem like impossible tasks for adults with ADHD, often leading to feeling overwhelmed, procrastination, confusion, self-doubt, and failure. These challenges may be due to diagnosed or undiagnosed ADHD.

 The same types of behaviors that can harm children and teens with untreated ADHD can impact adults.  If left unaddressed, adults with ADHD may experience more significant career advancement challenges, higher divorce rates, and are more likely to be depressed or have low self-esteem. Rather than focusing solely on addressing symptoms, the strategies in this 3- hour course will demonstrate how to build essential life skills that promote self-awareness, goal-setting, time management. Many of these challenges fall under the umbrella of Executive Function skills, and as with all skills, learning specific tools and strategies can mean the difference between struggle and success.

Andrea Boffice, B.A., M.A.

Andrea Boffice is a facilitator and content developer with a particular passion for youth and young adult peer support. Prior to joining the Institute in 2019, she worked in youth advocacy in Pennsylvania and Massachusetts and still engages in systems advocacy and community education within Philadelphia. Andrea earned a B.A and M.A at the school of International Development, Community, and Environment within Clark University. Her goal at the Institute is to educate about the unique experiences of youth, foster cross-generational partnerships, expand the availability of peer support services for young adults, and to aid young people in their recovery.
