Course Description

This three hour training will introduce participants to the Stages of Change and describe service strategies that are appropriate for each of the stages. Furthermore, participants will rehearse utilizing “participant statements” and practice utilizing this knowledge for daily interactions with Peers and for use in  their own recovery.  Through presentations, groups discussions and other virtual engaging activities, participants will learn to apply Motivational Interviewing skills to the work they do with peer services recipients and other individuals they interact with in their daily lives. This course is eligible for 3 hours of Continuing Education Credits and is certified by the Florida Certification Board.

Ti'Aza Hill

Ti’Aza is a Certified Peer Specialist and WRAP facilitator, with over a half decade of experience in the helping field. She is particularly interested in supporting individuals with mental health diagnosis and returning citizens. Ti’Aza is passionate about holistic approaches to wellness outside the medical model and centered on human interaction with nature and green spaces. Prior to joining the institute, she worked to support returning citizens in finding resources and employment.
