About this Course

This workshop is designed to help parents support an Adult Child in Moving Beyond Addiction. This 3 week skill-building workshop lead by a licensed mental health professional with lived experience as a family member. They will present evidence-based ideas, facilitate practice sessions and discussions and provide resources and support.

Lydia Cooper, CPS, ADHD-PC

Lydia Cooper is the Program Manager of Family Education and Support and brings over 40 years of experience in the Social Services field with over 25 years of training in adult education. Most recently Lydia served as a lead trainer and content developer in the child welfare field with a focus on Kinship Foster Care. She is a seasoned trainer on the effects of trauma on children, and how to employ the methods that will assist in their healing. She was also the Principal trainer for Caregivers for children with Special Behavioral Health needs. As Chairperson of the Training Workgroup for the Quality Parenting Initiative, Lydia advocated for virtual learning and led the development of an e-learning platform for resource parents in Philadelphia. Lydia is a State Certified Peer Specialist; her other certifications include ADHD Parent Coaching, Effective Black Parenting, Family Group Decision Making, CSEC, The ABC Method, and the American Red Cross.
