This training is designed to educate peers on the impact of trauma across the lifespan and to support those they are working with to address trauma in an intentional and informed manner. 6 CEUs
This course introduces trauma theory, beginning with understanding the brain/body stress response, and then exploring the short- and long-term impact of adversity, toxic stress and trauma. We include discussion of the Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) research, Historical Trauma and Social Determinants of distress as well as buffering factors and resiliency.
