Course Description

Live Classroom Training at Roosevelt Community Center, 464 S Old Middletown Rd, Media, PA 19063

WRAP 2 Facilitator is a 30 hour training building on the foundations of Wellness Recovery Action Plan. It will teach participants to facilitate WRAP groups and work with others to develop their own WRAP. Wellness Recovery Action Plan® (WRAP) is an evidence-based practice developed by the Copeland Center for Wellness and Recovery. PRIOR TO ATTENDING THIS TRAINING, PARTICIPANTS MUST FULFILL THE PREREQUISITE COURSE: INTRODUCTION TO WRAP. This course has a registration cap that will be determined on a first come, first serve basis.

James Klasen

Jim is an Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator and Certified Older Adult CPS trainer. He brings over 35 years of experience from the workforce development field. Jim has worked with youth, welfare recipients, persons returning home from prison, and persons impacted by trauma, mental health, and substance related challenges. Jim is a CPS and brings lived experience sharing his recovery journey openly as evidence that recovery and wellness are both possible and probable. His journey has led naturally to his “encore career” as the Institute's representative to Delaware County.

Learning and Development Specialist

Carrie Tann-Cooper, B.F.A., MS

Carrie Tann-Cooper, (she/her/hers) is a Certified Peer Specialist, certified WRAP II facilitator and a Learning and Development Specialist. Carrie earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rosemont College in 2017 and her Master of Science degree from Full Sail University in 2019. Prior to joining the Institute, she spent eight years as an early childhood educator as well as an elementary teacher in Pennsylvania and Delaware. In 2021, Carrie partnered with the Lions Club International where she created and facilitated a free mentorship program for underserved young-adults in Delaware that focused on college prep, mental and physical health and life skills pertinent to entering into adulthood. Throughout her career as an educator, Carrie has gained extensive experience with writing and implementing curricula, as well as experience with teaching and working with children and young adults who have autism, learning disabilities, and behavioral challenges. Carrie has a passion for facilitating trainings for all age groups and uses storytelling and real-life experiences to enhance the materials for the classes she teaches.
